With the changing scenario of the lerning system, India has revamped itself over the years from traditional classroom teaching to e-learning with the rise of Ed-tech start-ups that have disrupted the education sector. Considering the relevance, the main focus is to enable better educational facilities and transforming learning atmosphere more experiential and focused on real-world application of conceptsraher than adopting traditional one.

Recognizing this as the need of the hour, Dr. Chandan Agarwal, an Edupreneur and a Visionary from Bihar established a group of schools in the state of Uttar Pradesh, that has changed the education set-up of the state. He is the chairperson of G.D. Goenka Public School, Kanpur, who envisioned to develop model schools to bridge the growing education gap in India.

Expanding his vision to reach out to children of all age groups, he founded G. D. Goenka Toddler House in Lucknow, La Petite Montessori in Kanpur, and G.D. Goenka Montessori School in Kanpur under the aegis of the famous G.D. Goenka Trust from Delhi.

Dr. Agarwal,a management graduate from Narsee Monjee University, Mumbai who has also been honored with a Ph.D. degree from the International University of America in London, said “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way. Education is the foundation pillar of any society and hence it calls for an attentive and determined resource allocation which is driven towards strengthening the foundation of literacy in a society”.

“The responsibility to make education accessible to every nook and corner of the country, either through physical classes or online classes, lies on all three tiers of the governing bodies. The most suitable way of teaching students of modern times is by initiating a relationship between teachers and students that goes beyond the traditional role of teachers. A healthy relationship with the teacher makes the student comfortable to ask doubts and increases curiosity, which is the core of our group of schools. Additionally, we are also equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure and technology and offer a healthy learning environment to students through its digital smart classrooms, sports, and extracurricular rooms, fully air-conditioned facilities, a world-class cafeteria, safe school practices, and an extensive international library,” he added.

Dr. Agarwal is also a well-known humanitarian who has been recognized for his selfless efforts toward the betterment of society. He believes that education should be available to all irrespective of any financial or religious background. Towards the same, he has adopted ten girls under the banner of Sarthak Foundation, Lucknow, and oversees their education and medical expenses. Additionally, every year ten underprivileged children are provided free education, lodging, and medical facilities at GD Goenka hostel in Kanpur. Recently, 35 students from GD Goenka school also had the opportunity to interact with the Governor of Uttar Pradesh, Anandiben Patel where the students discussed on the current education system of India with her.

Believing in his leadership approach, the famous GD Goenka Trust continues to be inspired by his vision. His innovative approach to teaching has become a living testament to transform the educational landscape of the country and his indomitable role in the constructive youth revolution of the country.
