From benefits and limitations, here is how AI is playing a crucial role in transforming the Indian education system.
In general, AI has the potential to enhance Indian education. It helps students with learning more efficiently by creating their educational environment while also offering them access to learning materials outside of the classroom.
Here is how AI influences education in several ways:
The use of AI to find plagiarism in students’ essays and other projects is now possible. This makes it easier to verify whether the work the students submit is their own.
TOOLS FOR TRANSLATION
The globalization of educational resources into many languages is now possible with AI. Students from all around the world now have access to remarkable tools for learning, thanks to AI.
VIRTUAL REALITY AND AUGMENTED REALITY
AI can be used for creating VR and AR experiences that strengthen academic results for students. Students can take advantage of augmented and virtual reality to tour historical locations, carry out scientific experiments, and so on.
However, AI has its downsides too. Here are some findings highlighting the potential downside of AI in Indian education:
As a result of the extensive use of artificial intelligence (AI) in the classroom, there may be less interaction between participants. AI-powered assistants and chatbots may eventually be able to instruct students at a level comparable to that of human teachers as their level of ability develops.
This can result in less chances for students to interact with each other in class, which could harm their development at a social and emotional level.
LACK OF CRITICAL AND CREATIVE THINKING
The use of AI in education may cause students to lose their ability to be creative and think critically as they depend increasingly on AI-driven technologies to do their assignments. This is because AI technologies carry out commands precisely and provide planned outputs and are not made to be either creative or unique thinkers.
CAN CREATE INCOME INEQUALITIES
The inequality in income and wealth may increase as a result of AI. Since AI-powered tools are expected to be expensive, students from high-income backgrounds may have access to these resources while those from lower-income groups may not. This might lead to an increase in the wealth disparity.
AI can both advance and transform the field of education. Before introducing AI in schools and colleges, lawmakers and academicians should, however, carefully weigh the benefits and drawbacks of the technology.
It is an effective technology with the potential to revolutionise Indian education. But for everybody, irrespective of their socioeconomic background, AI should be used to their benefit and people need to use it properly with righteousness.
